With most citizens of South Carolina having low opinions of Governor Mark Sanford and disappointed about his actions over the past month, it appears that the state's GOP decided to take action.
After discussions on a conference call last night, the SC GOP resolved this topic by officially reprimanding the Governor.
With 69% of the state calling for resignation, I'm personally not surprised at this political response. I only wonder how much the governor's $1.8 million war chest influenced this outcome.
Based upon this action that provides the Governor a "second chance," he better cowboy up and cease his complaining.

Update: Quotes from the SC Democratic & Republican leadership printed in an Associated Press article:The resolution's wording did not specify how Sanford fell "below the standards expected of Republican elected officials." .....
"I'm unclear what they censured him for," said state Democratic Party chairwoman Carol Fowler. "They probably did the most protective thing they could have done, other than vote to support him."
GOP officials say the vote ended the matter, and they're moving on.
"The Republican Party will not speak any further on this, absent additional revelations," said GOP Chairwoman Karen Floyd. "It's bringing closure on a very divisive and disappointing time in our state's history. We think that now's the time for the Republican Party to begin the process of healing, and we're holding true to core beliefs."
I must say...Every time it appears Sanford is going to get stuck with something, he shows that he must be covered in Teflon.
